This off-grid property is great for stargazing (Bortle Scale 1 making it as good a location as it gets for dark skies), launching UTV adventures, exploring the many ghost towns and art installations along the first transcontinental railroad, prospecting abandoned gold and silver mining locations nearby, or whatever else a recreation lover's imagination may discover. Nearby is Devil's Playground, which is a great location for UTV trails, bouldering, hiking, and rock climbing. From the property one can easily access the many ghost towns along the Old Railroad Grade Road (the first transcontinental railroad) such as Lucin, Terrace, Kelton, and ending at the Golden Spike National Historical Park. There are also funky and remote art installations in the area such as the Sun Tunnels, the Spiral Jetty, and the Republic of Zaqistan. Also in the area is Stargazer Ranch where a regional Burning Man event is held every June called Element 11. The property is just under a 3 hour drive from Salt Lake City and is 25 miles from Montello, NV which has gas/diesel & grocery, a motel, and a bar & grill. The property is not hard to get to and could be accessed by most vehicles although a 4x4 is recommended due to the remote nature of the area. From Snowville, Utah you would exit I-15 and follow State Route 30 until you're nearing the Nevada border. Follow the Lucin cutoff to the South (Grouse Creek on the North). Follow Pilot Mountain Road to the south a couple of miles. Past the railroad tracks you will see Lucin Pond on the East. About 1/8 mile past the pond go West on Tucoma Road about a mile until you arrive at the property. On the way to the property there is a small pioneer cemetery on a bluff, to the south of Tucoma Road with a couple of marked graves. The property has several washes on the South and East sides. Access to the Northern side of the property might be best accessed through the large wash that is just south of the Lucin Pond before Tucoma Road. The property has beautiful views of the mountains all around and there are no visible dwellings from the property. You can see Lucin Pond to the East and the railroad tracks of the first Transcontinental Railroad to the north. The current owner has seen deer, elk, antelope, jackrabbits, ground squirrels, many species of birds (the Lucin pond is a stopover for migratory birds) and even some wild horses on the property. Vegetation consists mostly of prairie grass, sagebrush and some wildflowers. You can see Pilot Peak to the South and Bald Eagle Mountain to the South West.
